Chicago Authors Event May 3, 2014

So I've decided to start blogging again, and this time with a little bit simpler format.

I went to the Chicago Authors Event on Sat. May 3, 2014 and had a blast! I had Beth, my longtime friend, come along. She's not much of a reader... OK she's not a reader at all! But she very kindly held my three books that I brought along to have signed, and stood in line like a "pack mule!" Her words not mine. She choose not to wear comfy shoes because she wanted to look cute. I, on the other hand, had the best of both worlds wearing CUTE NIKES!

I made cookies for R. K. Lilley the night before, so there is also a picture of us with her sampling the results. She is super, super nice, (along with her husband), and she signed my books and we chatted for a minute because she was really busy with the long line of other readers. Jasinda and Jack Wilder also had a long line, so my friend once again served as my mule and held my spot so I could get all the signatures that I wanted. They were also super cool and nice and said that they would do a Q&A for Bella's blog so we have that to look forward to! First up though I have to read ALPHA and give my thoughts on it.I decided that since I had purchased most of the authors' books on my iPad/Kindle that I would have the authors sign my leather top to the iPad. So, I went to Target and bought a pack of really cute colored silver pens, and that is what the authors signed it with. I'm going to be totally honest - had I not had a new cover at home this would've never happened! I am a bit anal about keeping my things in new condition. So below is a picture of the authors who signed my iPad cover.

As you can see I got about a total of 17 signatures before the A.M. shift was over (Raine Miller being the last to sign.) Thank God for Beth or I might not have gotten that many. Each author was very gracious when asked to sign, and didn't insist that I show them proof of my purchases! I totally respect each author, and the work that they bring us as readers.

I expressed appreciation to them for their work, but also told that when I'm reading a three-book series I want all three books right away with no waiting allowed. Lol!
